Buying From Cravar: Shipping, Duties, Returns & Warranty
Cravar sells direct from Jakarta. That keeps prices down, but it changes the buying experience. Here's what to know first.
Who is Cravar?
Cravar was founded by Yoki P. Baskara and Rama Luhur and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It debuted on Kickstarter in 2013, returned for a second campaign in 2014, and now makes all its goods in-house. Leather comes from a tannery partner in Yogyakarta, and brass hardware from a family-run maker in the same city.
Shipping
- Shipping is included in the listed price, sent via DHL with tracking.
- Delivery typically takes 5–10 days plus customs processing.
- In-stock items ship within 1 business day; production-run colors show their lead time (often about 3 weeks) on the product page.
Import duties
Duties and taxes are not included. US buyers: since the de minimis exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025, all imports are subject to duties, and Cravar notes the tariff moved to a single global rate in February 2026. Check your country's rules before ordering.
Returns
- 10 days from delivery, unused and in original condition, and you must contact Cravar first.
- Returns must go by postal service (not DHL/FedEx/UPS) to avoid Indonesian import tax, and customs can take weeks.
- Personalized items (initials) and anything bought with a discount code are final sale.
Warranty
Lifetime warranty on all goods. For defects in materials or workmanship, Cravar repairs the item and pays shipping both ways — or can reimburse a local repair if agreed in advance. Natural marks, tonal variation and normal aging of leather aren't defects.
Discount code
When we checked in October 2026, Cravar's site displayed 10% off with code LETSDOTHIS. Weigh the saving against the final-sale rule above — if you're unsure about size, pay full price and keep the return option.
Personalization
Up to three upper-case initials can be stamped, in a choice of two fonts, for a fee shown on the product page.
Care
Wipe leather with a damp cloth, air-dry away from strong sun, and condition occasionally (Cravar suggests Obenauf's products). Test any product on a hidden spot first — conditioners darken leather.
